Submitted Profile: My name is Michael Burns and I live in Gilmanton Iron Works, NH. I retired as a science teacher from St. Paul’s School, a secondary preparatory boarding school in Concord, NH, having taught there from 1971 to 2004.

I have a few publications to my credit: In 1980, I co-authored a memoir of the Bread Loaf Writer’s Conference, in Pembroke Magazine. I published an essay on the writing of college recommendations in The Parents Review in 1983. I have also written several book reviews for the School’s alumni magazine, the Älumni Horae, the latest, a review of Rick Moody’s The Ice Storm.

My first novel, Gemini, was published by Poncha Press in September 2001. I have had two short stories win third place prizes in the electronic literary magazine Serpentine, in their second and fourth annual short story contests. I published a deleted scene from Gemini, bearing the same name, in the year 2000 issue of Pembroke Magazine.
