Q&A (Galleys and Rushes)(For definitions, see the left-hand column)I am having my book converted to Video. Do I get to see the rushes? The release or public/private exhibition of rushes is the prerogative of the
videographer or film maker. In our case, we use our subsidiary company CCA-V Television to
transfer books to video or cinematographic film. The policy is that if you
appear in any film sequence, you are entitled to see yourself before the film is
released. I am having my book converted to a Multimedia CDROM. Do I get to pre-view it before release? If your book is being published under conventional publishing, yes it
may be pre-viewed before release. You will be advised when a copy is ready and
it may be viewed in person at any one of our branches or subsidiaries world-wide. I am having my Manuscript published as a book. Do I get progress reports and do I see the galley proofs? If your book is being published under conventional publishing, yes,
you will be sent proofs before printing takes place. You will also receive
regular progress reports from each of the departments involved in your book.
I am having my book converted to an Audio CD. Do I get to hear it before publication? Our subsidiary company Red
Range Radio transfers books to audio CD and the policy is that if you are
being recorded speaking, singing or playing an instrument, you are entitled to
hear yourself before the audio is released. Why? We have made these decisions out of fairness to all, including our own staff and those of our subsidiary companies, and will not normally compromise these conditions. Thank you for being so understanding. |
