Of Paths and Storms and Rainforest Ghosts
by Dominic Ward

Of Paths and Storms and Rainforest Ghosts is a linear narrative that is set in a country on the brink of a civil war. The plot traces Captain Greyhelm’s mission to re-activate a telecommunications transmitter set deep in the bush, some days hike along a dream-like path. Greyhelm and his assigned subordinate, the Lieutenant, follow the path doggedly through many twists and turns, while with every new step, Greyhelm shares pieces of his story – a story that eventually climaxes with the brutal revelation that the mission to the transmitter is not exactly what it should be. He believes he has the trust of those who have assigned him to this task…but should he?
This book guides its reader, should he or she be open to the journey, through many different levels of human consciousness. It is at once an ambitious piece that may or may not become apparent to its reader, and a simple adventure story revolving around the concerns of a man torn between violence and peace.
